Arclin
United States
Sustaining Member
Arclin acquired the Aramids business (Kevlar® and Nomex®) on April 1, 2026. The Aramids business was previously a PIA member under their former owner DuPont. Nomex® has been used in parachuting since the 1960s for its flame resistant properties. Kevlar® has been used in parachuting since the 1970s for its high strength to weight ratio with the PIA specs built around the specification of para-aramid. Kevlar® EXO™, the newest aramid fiber innovation, has been being used as webbing and cordage in the parachuting industry since 2024 and is expanding the ability to produce higher strength, lower weight, and still flame-resistant solutions (including higher LOI for space applications!). The Aramids business will continue producing Nomex®, Kevlar®, and Kevlar® EXO™ as part of Arclin and supplying the parachuting industry.
Nomex®, Kevlar®, and Kevlar® EXO™ are trademarks or registered trademarks of Arclin or its affiliates.
