Allen Silver has been skydiving since the age of seventeen when he made his first parachute jump in Southern California after watching the old television series, Ripcord. He now has over 42 years of experience in the field and has made more than 3100 parachute jumps as a sport and professional skydiver.

Parachute demonstration jumps are Allen's favorite way of getting time in the air. He loves performing jumps into downtown San Jose and Jack London Square as well as numerous parks, schools and other locations. Many organizations invite Allen back year after year.

For three seasons Allen performed a wingwalking/skydiving routine at airshows throughout the western United States with Eddie Andreini and his Super Stearman. After retiring from wingwalking in 1992 Allen remains on the airshow circuit as a skydiver. Even more scary he recently returned to flying. If he can only remember to land in the aircraft.

Allen enjoys jogging, hiking and bicycling when he is not busy packing and maintaining parachutes at his loft in Hayward, California.

Allen's son, Darrin Silver, is also involved in aviation. He graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in aviation/flight operations in May of 1999. Darrin has over 2400 hours of flight time and has spent time as a Metroliner captain for Sierra West Airlines. He also draws the comic strip "Flying High".
