A fair market value is placed on each parachute by using the guidelines established in the article titled "Before You Buy Your Parachute" in the Articles page.
Item 1 (Photo Coming Soon!)
MINI WEDGE (BACK),S/N 4755-SA,
Mfg. 9/97, by Para-Phernalia. It has an aerobatic harness. The harness and
container are both red. This parachute has a ram-air canopy. The person who
purchases this parachute must show proof of training on a ram-air canopy before
I will sell it to you. You must show that you are ram-air qualified or have
attended a ground school. A tandem jump is not required, but would be helpful.
I must have some sort of documentation on file that you received proper
training. It has a Raven IVg ram-air canopy, S/N 04425025, Mfg. 9/94. This
parachute is rated at 130 KIAS with up to 254 lbs. This is a docile giant with
a very slow rate of descent. This parachute is in excellent condition. I call
this a "BIG BOY" parachute.
Price: $850.00
Item 2 (Photo Coming Soon!)
MINI SOFTIE (BACK),S/N 5762-S,
Mfg. 2/02, by Para-Phernalia. The container is charcoal grey with navy trim and
has the stripe option (silver/navy/silver) on the back of the container. It
comes with a conventional harness. B-12 snaps on the leg straps and a thread
thru chest strap. The container is about four inches thick. The parachute
inside the container is the very slow rate of descent Preserve V canopy, S/N
00045, Mfg. 10/00 by Free Flight Ent. This canopy is rated at 150 KIAS with up
to 275 lbs. This has been my personal demonstrator parachute for people to try
on and has never been used. It is in very good to excellent condition. It comes
with a matching (charcoal) carrying bag. This parachute would retail for over
$1900.00 new. It does require special packing skills that any rigger could
quickly pick up. I did several of the test jumps on this type of parachute
before it was introduced to the public and can attest to its very slow rate of
descent and light opening shock.
Price: $1425.00
Item 3 (Photo Coming Soon!)
BETA CHAIR STYLE (BACK),S/N
12551, Mfg. 10/03, by Butler Parachute Systems. It has an aerobatic harness.
The harness and container are charcoal grey. The canopy is the Butler LoPo 550,
S/N 11404, Mfg. 3/03. It has a very slow rate of descent. It is rated at a
maximum exit weight of 350 lbs. with a maximum deployment speed of 150 kts. It
comes with a black carrying bag. This parachute is basically brand new. The
present owner cannot fit in the aircraft with it on and is willing to sell if
for far less than the $2300.00 retail price. I would call this a "Big Boy"
parachute. The container is wedge-shaped, it's very thin at the top and about
3"- 4" thick in the lumbar area. There is a padded extension that you sit on
that is 1" thick.
Price: $1795.00
Item 4 (Photo Coming Soon!)
MINI SOFTIE (BACK), S/N
4936-S, Mfg. 3/98, by Para-Phernalia. The entire container is navy blue. It
comes with a conventional harness that is also navy blue. It has B-12 snaps on
the leg straps and a thread thru chest strap. The parachute is the 24' Preserve
1C, S/N 64138, Mfg. 11/03, by Free Flight Ent. It is rated at 150 KIAS with up
to 220 lbs. The parachute is brand new. The entire parachute system is in very
good condition and shows little wear. This parachute has about 14 years service
life remaining on it. This is an excellent buy. It does not come with a
carrying bag. I suggest that a carrying bag ($30.00) be purchased to help
protect the parachute.
