FABRIC TYPE
FO1 PZ is a 0-3 cfm ripstop fabric
which is currently used world wide in sport canopies,
reserve parachutes, student and tandem rigs.
FINISH
FO1 PZ is treated with a silicone
finish to improve tear resistance and give the fabric
anti-static properties. It is then calendered on both
sides to reduce the air flow to below 3 cfm. This process
is precision controlled to achieve effective fabric
sealing without sacrificing fabric strength. This ensures
that the fabric maintains its low porosity for as long as
it is required.
PERFORMANCE
Utilising modern technology, FO1 PZ
fabric is treated with stabilisers during the dyeing
process to enhance and increase its long term
performance. This reduces the effect of ultra-violet
degradation and frictional heat damage to the fibres, as
is the case in untreated fabrics. Work done in this area
is unique to Gelvenor Textiles and was a result of a
joint venture with a leading Swiss chemical company.
